Yesterday 5th July a few residents accompanied Ms Kidwai on her rounds of the market. Ms Kidwai and her team made a note of all the broken pavements, roads and pot holes. However since SDMC has absolutely no money for major repairs only minor repairs will be undertaken.
The market garden is really quite beautiful. It needs repairing in the centre which had fountains running to both lengths of the park . There is also a circular fountain in the centre. The side fountains are all blocked and useless; a complete waste of space. The idea is now to pave that area and make it a path for our further events. The circular fountain will be filled with plants as it is quite broken and a bit of an eyesore
The Dhalao and the toilets are to be tiled after which we shall put pots with quick growing creepers to cover the structures and give it an aesthetic look.
The door of the dhalao will also be moved to the side rather than this huge ugly opening in the front. The segregation at the site of the market has also been noted. It is not permissable
As there is no budget with the municipal corporation, Ms Kidwai said she will try and find a sponsor for the park repair and work. She has also okayed us putting up an advertisement on the toilet and dhalao by which we can spend on the upkeep of the market plus pay for a cleaner for the toilets
WE REQUEST ANYONE WHO CAN FIND US A SPONSOR TO PLEASE DO SO
The sponsor’s board will be up on the two structures as per the contract
